Maybe a friend told you to check. Maybe you saw a story image on TikTok or Instagram with your name on it. Either way, finding a letter written for you takes less than a minute.

Search your name

Go to the Browse page and type your first name in the search box. You will see every public letter written to that name, newest first. If your name has its own page, there is a link to open it. That page shows how many letters have been written to the name and the moods people chose.

Try the spellings people might use

People write names the way they say them. If your name is Aisyah, also try Aisya or Aishah. If you have a nickname that only a few people use, search that too. Those letters are often the ones that matter most.

How do I know a letter is for me?

Honestly, you cannot be fully sure. Many people share the same first name, and writers do not add surnames. Read the details. Does it mention a place, a song, a date or an inside joke? If it feels like yours, it might be.

What about private letters?

Private letters never appear in search. If someone wrote you a private letter, they have to send you the link themselves.

Get an alert for new letters

At the bottom of every name page there is a small box. Enter your email and confirm it. When someone writes a new public letter to that name, you get one short email with the link. You can unsubscribe from any email.

If a letter about you is not okay

If a letter shares something private or feels like harassment, use the Report button on the letter, or fill in the Remove a message form. Requests hide the letter right away while a person checks it.

And if you read something that made you want to reply, you can write back. Many conversations here started that way.

Questions people ask

Why can I not find a letter my friend said they wrote?

It may be private, still waiting for review, or written with a different spelling of your name. Ask your friend for the link.

Can I search by the writer's name?

No. Search works by the name the letter is written to, so writers can stay anonymous.

Are deleted letters gone for good?

Yes. When a writer deletes a letter with their edit link, it is removed completely.
